In partnership with Ponchon SAS, igus developed an innovative solution for precise, localized weed control using AI-guided laser technology. Mounted on an autonomous robot, the delta robot positions the laser accurately via three igus guide rails and motors with integrated controls.

The system autonomously navigates fields to detect and burn weeds using a high-speed delta robot capable of performing multiple actions per second. It operates reliably outdoors under varying weather conditions for at least eight hours daily.
